(COLDWATER) – The identity of a man found dead in Girard Township has been revealed.
Branch County Sheriff Warren Canon says the man is 52 year old Robert Eugene Mowers of Nashville, Tennessee. Mowers was found laying in the yard of a house on Fleming Road March 12 and was unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead.
Preliminary autopsy results revealed the cause of death was a heart attack. Mr. Mowers had been walking for some time and was also suffering from hypothermia.
Canon says Mowers used to live in the Coldwater area and had recently returned. He had no ties to the residence where he was found. Mowers apparently walked into the yard seeking assistance, but was incoherent.
