(ANGOLA) - After the position had been open for almost three months, the Angola Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Jack Bercaw as its new Executive Director. Chamber Board President Jennifer Rumsey says Bercaw will begin his new duties on Monday. In a press release issued by Rumsey, she says Bercaw will bring "proven management skills and a strong background in planning, budgeting and finance, as well as non-profit board experience." Bercaw has been a Lake James resident for over 20 years. Up until three years ago, he owned Maxton Motors. At one time, he was the Vice-President of the DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation. The Executive Directors position at the Chamber became open in November when Patti Anderson stepped down to spend more time with her family. Four people were interviewed for the job last month but none were chosen and the Chamber Board of Directors decided to re-open the search.
